You may be able to easily build a custom circuit depending on your video card and the type of monitor. Some, such as SGI, use sync-on-green. Be prepared to research.

If you are planning on using a fixed-frequency monitor, be aware that fixed frequency means it will only do ONE resolution. Makes text mode difficult to read You may want to run a dual monitor setup, and only use the fixed-freq for your second monitor. At least that's what I would do.

nowdays it is much cheaper and more efficient just to buy HD15<->BNC monitor cable, which runs $20 on average and you can use it with any video card.
