Who makes this power supply? Decent enough to use?

I'm looking at one of the first two cases listed here: cases, for a system build. From the reviews, the power supply looks decent. I'm trying to decide if I should use it or put it in my buddies old machine. The specs don't look bad, but just wondering on the quality, if it's worth "risking it", we don't want to kill other parts if it fails. We're doing:

XP2500 Barton
512 PC3200
DVD-ROM
DVDR
GF4 MX something
couple of case fans

I probably will overclock this slightly for him, nothing hard core. I hear changing the FSB on the 2500 is pretty easy. If it were for me, I wouldn't use it one reason being it's probably noisier than some other PSs I can get. But he doesn't care about that too much and he wants to keep costs low. Also, he will probably get a new video card later to play Doom3. What do you think?

Thanks

Foxconn usually uses Allied PSU's but I am not sure if that is
one or not.

That's strange. Foxconn either makes or sells better PSUs than that under the Foxconn/Allied PSUs listing on newegg. I wonder why they used L&C (real bottom feeders) in those cases. Anyway it is probably safe to use in lightly loaded and/or uncritical systems (make sure the mobo uses a P4 connector to power the CPU).
. If you keep mission-critical info or otherwise really rely on the machine, I would get a better one and keep that for back up (or sell it to someone that doesn't know and can't find your phone number or address).

L&C is a brand that DEER started 2 years ago because people would no longer touch the garbage they sold under that name.

I would say use it at your own risk. When you buy a high-end video card later you will end up having to buy a real PSU, so you might as well get one now. You can get a good 350W PSU from Enermax, SPI(Sparkle), Enlight, etc. for $30-$40.

I think my friend has decided that he doesn't trust it either, I told him it was borderline. I think he's going to get that case and a better PSU and do exactly what Zepper said, use it as a backup for when his old P1 system PSU fails.

Thanks all!

Just a quick update. We got the case, it was on sale for the Thanksgiving sale, $31 shipped and a free keyboard!

Anywho, the power supply says Mustang on it with the same part number as in the picture. Still didn't change the fact that we will be using something better, just wanted to put out the info.

Like the one in this picture, only 350W instead.
