Who makes the Mazda 6 engine?

ford duratec v6 i believe

the the 6i i'm not sure i think that is a mazda engine though because it is the same as the 3 which is built in japan

all 6s's are built in flat rock michigan IIRC

The V6 engine is built in the U.S., off the same assembly lines as the Mustang V6 I believe.

The 2.3 L is built in Japan.

Final assembly on all Mazda6s (both i and s) is done in the U.S.

But the Mazda6 is good car. It can't be Ford because Ford domestic and domestic sucks :|

We'll just see how reliable it is.

That's my feeling too. I had no complaints with my 98 626, but knowing Ford is involved is like buying a Saab when you know GM owns the company.

Its a Ford Duratec variant, quality american engineering, anyone who thinks otherwise should burn in hell for eternity 😉

But Saab is awesome. No way GM (crap) owns it.

Oh well, at least we still have Volvos 🙂

Here's a hint: Sweden (Maybe Switzerland?) Whoever they are, thanks for the safe and sorta fun cars. Maybe those "domestics" can take a few notes 😉

I'll take Honda for 500!

I've read somewhere that Porsche help design this engine in the past somewhere in Europe. I've read this in the Ford Contour forum's in the past before I purchased the Mazda MPV with the same engine.
