New Balance is the most comfortable, but Adidas seems to be comfortable and affordable.

Depends on your foot type. Some shoes work better for some people than others.

I've got super narrow feet and the only shoes that work for me are Nike or Asics. For a wider foot Adidas, Mizouno or New Balance will work better.

Also depends on your foot type as well. Certain types of runners require certain types of shoes - motion control, high flexibility, stability, high cushion, ect.

Correct.

Depend how your foot is shaped and your running style.

Some people run with weight on the heels or front ball of the foot. Some run leaning on the edge of the foot. Depends how you run to see which running shoe fits you best.

For me I like Nike. Fits best for me.

I only buy new balance all terrains, but they seem to get platicier and plasticier every year, so pretty soon they'll be fisher price.
I am a big guy, and most stores only carry NB in wide sizes. They are comfortable, but usually come with fancy impractical shoelaces, so pick up some aftermarket ones for 50 cents when you buy the shoes.
Also, some NB's I owned, the back inside gets torn up too easily, though they are still comfortable to wear even after that.

I ran cross country for three years in high school, and still today (after my first year of college) I never buy any running shoes but Asics.

I am a big fan of New Balance shoes. They seem to be the most comfortable and durable shoes for me. I have also had the problem with the back of the inside of the shoes rubbing off on 2 older pairs but my current pair has not had that problem yet.

Yes, 804's and 805's had that problem for me, but the 705s I have now are holding up OK, so maybe that problem has been resolved.

The backs of my New Balances are torn up...then again I've been wearing the same pair of shoes almost daily for over a year now.

as they said before, it really depends on your foot type and your preference. i tend to fit best with new balance shoes. perfect balance of motion control+cushioning for my feet.

so theres no absolute best, just try around. adidas and nike makes the coolest looking ones though imo.

Mizuno, Asics and Brooks make good runners...those three are my faves (in that order.)
