BEST is not the same as BEST for $50. I know some freaks here pay like $300 or more for headphones ;)

If you are looking for a good pair of headphones, you may want to check out the RumbleFX headphones. They have powered bass and have had some pretty good reviews. Check out their site HERE for more info. I also think you can buy them for around your price range.

I too, am interested in nice headphones, and I am willing to pay more than $50 (even $300) for a decent pair. I would want to buy some headphones mainly geared toward games, but decent enough for casual hearing (dvd's, music) is a plus too.

Also I would want to know the BEST (not just the BEST for under $50) :)

If you have a good quality amp to power them with I'd go for Sennheiser but if you were thinking of running directly from your sound card then a set of Grados cans would be your best bet. Both companies make a set in your price range.

Koss porta and sporta pros are pretty well regarded in the $20 to $30 range. If you can scrape together another $20 on top of that $50, you can a nice entry-level audiophile headphone in the Grado SR60s.

i think you can pick up the grado 60 for around 60. They are one of the best headphones for the price. Check out the reviews

for full size closed ear Koss R series. great price for what you get especially the 60 ohm, but they really need an amp to shine. Then of course a dedicated amp will cost. But if your source already has some power (reciever) fun fun

i'd say under a 100 get grado 60's on up. at the $200-300 level get sennheiser 580s, 600s, etc.
