Who makes the best car wax?

There is oxidation and there is failed clear coat. Wax or polishing will not fix failed clear coat and damaged paint, you need a lot of sanding and a new paint job for that.

If the clear is still good and it just looks like crap and is hard to clean and/or has swirls, you need a clay bar followed by a polisher/cutting agent, and THEN finally seal/wax.

True, but Zaino is a pain to apply. lol. Can get the same or better results with half the effort lol.

I have no problem applying it, it's just that most prefer multiple coats for a better shine and longer protection so yea, in that sense it takes longer..

Another look at a previous car I had.

1998 Cadillac Seville STS

100K+ miles. Never had a garage when I owned it.

Clay + Light coats of NXT wax after every wash.

This last one was at 145K miles shortly before selling it.

I haven't had time to keep up on my detailing lately but here is a link to some how to's over at Autogeek.

I would suggest a wash/clay/prep/wax/sealant/topper using the products of your choice.

I can't say who the best is, there are tons of options and if you have the money you can buy some pretty expensive stuff. I've had good luck with the Poorboy's line in the past, it's affordable and provides good results.

mc866, that's pretty much it. The products do differ some, but it's the process and quality of the labor that counts the most. You could buy some $30 a bottle wax and put it on a car with zero prep or without doing any other steps and it's not going to look as good as a wash/clay/prep/wax/sealant with products from Autozone.
