I'm looking to get a super laptop, but not sure who to get it through. Anyone have any experience with any?

Panasonic arguably makes the best laptops, and Lenovos are also highly regarded, in general.

Oh I also forgot to mention it will primarily be for travelling gaming. If that makes a difference.

Toshibas are nice, so are Lenovos(Their users seem a bit stuck up sometimes though, its like the PC MacBook, but wait Apple makes one of those too :p)

Forgot to mention, Dells are made a lot better now, and you'll never need to worry about running out of spare parts.

My T20 is 6 years old? And it looks as good as new. IBM/Lenovo Thinkpads are the most durable. Apple is a close second. Everything else out there is pretty poorly built, be it dell, aliencrap, etc.

Alienware is terrible

Toshiba gets my vote. My step dads got a sweet one for work. You can feel the quality.

The MacBook Pro is a great laptop and it even runs Windows now. The graphics card is about midrange for gaming, though.

HP's nc series like the nc6000 is an AWESOME laptop. For those of you who still love 14.1" laptops, which I do, the Dell 600m 610m 630m whatever or IBM's T42 cannot even compare to HP's nc6000.

dell, their new laptops seem very well built now.

thinkpads (lenovo/IBM) are supreme, panasonic, toshiba and samsung are pretty good too. and i think Acer can be good as well sometimes. sony laptops are very well done, my dads got one and the build is fantastic. if looks like it would break easily being so thin, but it sturdy as a rock....i think the lid is made of magnesium or something.

I recommend Dell E1505 and use that discount coupon. Google for Dell coupons, they renew it all the time. The expiration date comes and goes, replaced by a new coupon.

I love my Apple MacBookPro and highly recommend it. The 256 MB X1600 graphics are great for games like Quake 4 and Oblivion. Note that the graphics are underclocked by default. Out of the box I was able to run Quake 4 full screen, full resolution with no problem, but to get good performance in Oblivion I had to use ATITool to up the X1600 and gfx ram clockspeed by about 75 MHz.

Also note that the regular, non-Pro "MacBook" uses Intel Integrated Graphics. Only the "MacBookPro" has a dedicated X1600 GPU.

If you can handle the size and weight, I highly recommend the newer Sagers. Absolute best bang for the buck if you need a monster notebook with dual hard drives, dual optical drives, etc. Built better than Alienware for a fraction of the price. Sager rocks.

I have two laptops. One a Pro-star Intel 3.4 extream edtion L3 2mb cache 1gb of ram Dual 80 gb hard disk and a ati mobility radeon 9700 series.

And I also have

Acer centerno duo 1.66 ghz. 1gb of ram and 100gb hard disk and internegraded video card.

Here the pros and cons about Laptops

1 faster they are the More power they use. My desktop replacement I have about a hour battery life. Where My Centreno duo has 4 hour battery life unless I run full power and it has 2 Hour battery life.
2 Please read warning on Games. Some games will not work for they need direct x 9.0
3 Size and how heavy they are.

I just received my new Toshiba G350-AV650 notebook from CircuityCity and I must say, it is AWESOME. My priority was monitor size and hard drive size and this Toshiba fits the bill for me. One drawback I found though is the size and weight of this beast. I don't mind it too much and that's what I get for wanting a large screen size and decent AV abilities. I did look at Dell and Sony, but I still gravitated back to Toshiba.

It may not be the best in some eyes, but it is all right by me.
