Who makes good car alarm systems?

I'm gonna need a car alarm sooner or later.. what brands are good that I should be looking into?

I'd like to spend at most $300.

Totally agree... Clifford and Viper has some of the best car alarms on the market...

Vipers are nice, definitely. I have an Audiovox City Tuff 995, this thing kicks ass, its got alarm, remote start, 2-way pager, good stuff.
