Who makes Dell Keyboards?

welcom to AT. i know microsoft makes their mice, so i would assume that their keyboards are also microsoft products

the dell mice at school are logitechs. could be either micro$oft or logitech for the keyboards. or does microsoft even manufacture there own keyboards?

No, they are not made by Mircosoft. They are made by some Asian company, I forgot the name.

EDIT: I think it's Minebea Co., its a Japanese company

There's been a few different manufacturers of Dell keyboards over the years. One of the best ways to find out who made it is by using the "FCC ID number" from the underside of the keyboard. Go to the FCC ID number page, plug the number into the search box and see what's up.

I don't know if they change manufacturers around, but the last two standard black keyboards I got from Dell were from Minebea Thai, Ltd. Here is their keyboard page and a quote from there: "Minebea supplies keyboards on an OEM basis to leading global PC manufacturers for us [sic] in desktop and notebook PCs." Honestly those two keyboards are the best I've ever used - no noise but provide excellent feedback to the fingers to know the key has been pressed. One is in my office and is shared by many people - the majority have gone out of their way to say they really like the keyboard.

I always wondered who made the keyboard. My black one is just terrific. It may be a touch small, but is quite heavy and very solid. And I can vouche that my black mouse is logitech. Like the keyboard, it is very very good.

My keyboard just has a FCC Declaration of Conformity so its not searchable.
