Hi

guys I need your advice, Im thinking of buying a mobile rack, but Ive had a terrible experience with one about 5 or so years ago and since then I wasnt able to touch them (burned 3 hdds)
Im getting ready to accept them again but I would really want a really good one because Im still affraid of them a bit 🙂
could you recommend a high quality model ?

please let me know

Thank you
Dan

P.S. what do you think of cremax/icy dock ? (they pretty much buy them from stardom/raidon from what I understand)

Been using Lian-Li racks for years for all drives. Cost around $20.00 for rack and tray for 7200rpm ide drives. All plastic. They make much better ones, but these work great. Have a small fan in the back that should be repalced with a dual ball bearing one.
For hot swap you need scsi or sata models

take a look at VANTEC, currently using two hotswapable sata hd inclosers that have a display for temps, speeds and fan monitors, with small fans at rear, the hd are easy to replace also.

I've used Kingwin's IDE mobile racks extensively for OS swapping, ghost HD clone, and backup HD swapping. Excellent stuff. Never had a problem. Thinking about getting a pair of KF-91 w/ extra trays for SATA HDs when I upgrade my current system.
