Who makes a good cordless phone these days?

I need to replace a cordless phone. I don't need any bells and whistles, but I would like one with a second handset that I can keep in a room that does not have a phone jack.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. :)

I have a Uniden setup and it's great. Base and phone #1 is in the living room, phone #2 is at the computer desk, and phone #3 is on my nightstand. Never had any problems out of it and quality is excellent. Got it off of Amazon about a year ago.

I agreed with that until I got my most recent cordless phones (about a year ago). They're Panasonic... two cordless + base speakerphone. Expensive as hell (but I needed them because they can handle 2 phone lines), but they're awesome. :D

I have two Uniden systems. One is a two handset system from newegg and the other is a cordless phone/answering machine from Amazon.com.

I am very satisfied with both.

Total cost was $90.
