If you were selling a good number of albums, but not enough to make you rich, and some big faceless company comes and offers you tens of millions of dollars to make a radio friendly song, would you not? When Hurley comes up to you and offers you millions of dollars to wear their clothes, would you not sign the contract and wear their gear? When Converse says I'll give you X amount of money to wear Chuck Taylor's on stage, would you not?

If you think you would stay &quot;underground&quot; rather than make millions of dollars and live in a lush California mansion with everything you could want, you are lying to yourself.

I have it just for the sake of having it. My mom kept AOL after I got DSL so my sister could dial up while she was at school and living in off campus housing, and that is the only e-mail service her or my dad could figure out how to use.

As for the comment about if I were in the same situation... hell yes I would stay underground. If I were in a &quot;punk&quot; band yes, but if I was an alter/rock band, no. Punk (how it used to be) was never ment for the mainstream, that's why we have this crappy pop-punk wannabe boyband moneyhungry homos filling up MTV and radio slots.

REAL punk bands, like the oldschool ones didn't do it for the money. It was a lifestyle, it was all about the music and expressing your feelings and all that nonsense. Now it isn't like that. Some bands can still do very well w/o charging 23094809384 dollars for a concert ticket, without MTV, without radio...

Look at NOFX, Bouncing Souls, Dropkick Murphys, etc etc etc... huge following, people still buy their CDs, they don't charge 20 dollars for albums, you can get into their shows for 10 bucks... they are happy with what they are as a band and don't need record labels or 13 year old girl fans to make them happy.
