Who knows ZEN3?

Ok, here is what I'm trying to do but have been unsuccessful with so far.

I have just been introduced to ZENworks and have very little knowledge. I'm try to push application to workstations. I have built snapshot aot files and setup nds objects associated with the aot files. I then associated users with the application and when I log in as the users, the application is not installed and the icon does not appear.

Any ideas what might be wrong?

Thanks.

Ok I think i know what you want to do.....

First, are you planning on running the software locally or on the app drive?
Is workstation manger turned on?
Also, are you running the Zenworks application launcher?

I want to run the app locally and deliver the icons, but don't want to have to visit every workstation to do the installation.
Workstation manage is loaded and the workstations are registered.
NAL also running and other application have been delivered this way, but before I got here by a consulting company.

How's about their login script, I would try pushing the install that way.
If the user doesnt manually see the icon, perhaps your AOT files are not complete.

When you created the Snapshot did you do it from a complete;y blank PC? Meaning just the OS and Novell client?
I have seen this cause issues in the past, if you use a customised PC with apps installed already.

I can't do it through a login script because the install requires making choices.

I do have office installed on the machine I used for the snapshot, but I don't think that is the problem, because the NDS aobect shows files and registry changes, but just doesn't push them out.

Do I need to associate the install with a workstation instead of a user?

Thanks.

I would try associating it with the workstation instead of the user.
Don't be fooled by the keys being in the Snapshot but not getting pushed, it will show up.

We had a snapshot we made of a Citrix plugin, I ended up noticing that peoples macines all had this one Wallpaper from Webshots.
Found out that the guy who made the snapshot had this same image in his machine when he made the AOT files.

Didnt have the program, but because the Snapshot compared itself to the workstations we installed to, it thought it needed to add that wallpaper to each PC.
