Who knows what...

military-supplied can opener. Used to get one in each boxed-lunch that I ate (before the military switched over to MREs.)

🙂

Edit: Yes, I know how to work them. We would keep one on our chain with our dog tags, in the event a can opener was needed.

I believe that's a P38. I used to have one... I don't know where it went. 🙁 Missing for years.

When I was little I liked them just because they had the same number as the P-38 Lightning.

Edit: And yes, I know how to use one.

Yep, old can opener. Slip it over the side of the can and cut away. Cuts a V shaps in the top of a can, like juice cans and such.

Dude, I think it's a can opener... but I can't be sure. It's not like anyone here has said what it is already. Because then we'd all know what it is.

What is it? WHAT IS IT!?

😉

The tool acquired its name from the 38 punctures required to open a C-ration can, and from the boast that it performed with the speed of the World War II P-38 fighter plane.

Heh, cool. So I wasn't crazy after all. 🙂
