Pretty much all 22" panels will have similar viewing angles because they are all TN panels. However, this can be good for gaming. I looked very hard into different 22" models and even owned the Acer 2216 before I discovered it had issues with DVI signals(search "Acer no signal" in google if you want to learn more). I eventually bought the LG227WTG from BB for $289.99 when they had it on sale. It combined a good price with much better build quality than the acer and at least has pivot up/down and rotate left and right which the acer did not.

From my experience with the LG it calibrates easily. Indeed, I don't think I really even need my calibrating device with this monitor. The changes needed were so minor and most took place by setting the RGB values in the menus. Truely an excellent monitor IMO.

The only thing that disappoints slightly is the black level. This is however the case with all TN monitors including the Acer, HP etc. This monitor can do dynamic contrast if you like which does improve black level, however note that it comes at the cost of color accuracy.
