It depends a LOT on your area, and your position. As a bagger I only made about a buck over minimum wage. As an assistant manager I made about $11/hr. Checkers averaged like $14/hr. That's a big wage in this area, and was about ten years ago.

The federally mandated minimum wage will be $5.85 by summer, $6.50 next year, and $7.25 in 2009.

Now if the democrats can just push through the student loan interest rate reduction.

I don't think it has made its way through the Senate yet and, last I checked, it hasn't gone before Bush.

I guess Schoolhouse Rock failed some 🙁

No your just a fvcking moron.

Seriously can you not read? I said by summer. Because it hasnt been passed by the Senate yet, but will pass easily, and Bush can't veto it because it would put even more negative pressure on him. It will pass the Senate by the end of Jan and signed by Bush sometime in Feb. 60 days later, ie: by summer, it will take effect.

The minimum wage bill will pass, as should the student loan bill.

Some stores with strong unions make $18-$20/hr. It's ridiculous.

Yeah. Tops Supermarkets (Subdivision of Martins). I know a guy that worked there for 7 years and was making $17.55.
