I think logic dictates that for us to believe that god and/or satan exist, we need proof. We have yet to recieve any such proof. That does not mean they do not exist, only that we have yet to recieve such proof.
I say 2+2 can equal 3, and you say it cant. You can spend your entire life showing me that 2+2=4, but if I show you just once that 2+2=3, then your argument is wrong.

i dont know why i wrote that stuff, but after quietly watching all the god threads come and go, i felt like having some input on this one.

Now, in response to this thread...
If god and satan exist, and if these numbers are close to being accurate, then maybe it implies the lack of importance of this life, and god placing more value on whatever is next. Or maybe it implies that satan likes to spend most of his time impersonating god and having people kill for him. Or maybe it shows how human nature can lead people to believe whatever it takes to justify their own actions (IE, killing thousands of people in the name of god). Or maybe the graph has misplaced all the god vs devil battles and deaths in name of god. Or maybe, in all of history, god has NEVER spoken to anyone on earth, and everything that has ever been done in his name is merely an illusion.

The fact is, that without evidence one way or another, this is an argument without an ending. All we have is our own lives, and our interactions with one another.
I think Bender said it best with:
"Fat chance. You can't count on God for jack! He pretty much told me so himself. Now come on! If we don't save those monks no one will."

I don't know who killed more people, but I do know one thing: God sent Saddam Hussein to Heaven to live amongst the Mormons.

When something new comes out, what is it? The work of the Devil!!!!
Once that passes, hey, that new stuff is really useful! Thank you God!!!!

No wonder Satan's bitter.

For those who use the graph as some sort of justification to be mad at God, understand that your definition of "killing" is very limited and not applicable to the OPs subject. God does not "kill" to kill. When you take the time to understand what the "killings" were, you'll realize it was the most loving thing to do. God has the power to resurrect, we do not.

God is a serial killer and should top the list on Discovery Channel's "Most Evil" program.

 I'm pretty sure the graph repressents all the people god told the israelites to kill in his name + sodom and gomorah (sp?) etc.

He ain't ressurecting none of them. This is the evil ass old testament god, not the loving hippy jesus dude.

????!!? "Justified" or "Mercy" killings? Since he can resurrect it's OK? Thanks for reminding me why I can't stand religion and the self-righteous ...

Kill 'em all and let God sort 'em out! :D

You're mistaken. The God of the OT is the God of the NT. Do some reasearch of Hebrew and Greek, and you'll find this to be so.

Also, don't be too sure about whom God will resurrect. ;)

Neither, the bible is simply fiction.

I think we have already established this as fact.

Just out of curiosity, and to play Devil's advocate, how have you established that the entire Bible is fiction? What absolute undisputable facts do you have for us that disprove the whole of the Bible? I'll be most interested to hear this.

Name me one thing that has happend in the Bible that, through scientific research, has happened as it is described in the text.

God.

So, why do you rip on the concept of God, now? Why don't you walk up to the biggest, baddest, most pissed-off drunken biker you can find in the Red Light district and try to kick him square in the jimmy? Maybe that'll put the fear of God in you. ;)

No that'll put the fear of biker in you.

The fear of god would require the existence of a God to do something to you.

Apparently, if the Israelities had done as he commanded, we wouldnt have the Middle east crises we have now, as there would be no Arabs....

There is no question about Jesus being a real person. There are other historical events which we know happened, IE: Cyrus invaded Babylon and set thousands of Jews free.

I don't ever remember seeing any proof. Can you link?
