I think I am the only person on Anandtech forums who doesn't like Lian Li cases...and thinks that Antec's look like my works computer case.

Best. Case. Ever.

Please tell me you're joking. That's gotta be one of the ugliest cases I've ever seen, and the PSU (just based on the ratings on the rails) looks to be crap.

I'm gonna go with Lian-Li. Although I haven't personally seen any of the high-end Coolermaster cases. Antec does not really impress me.

*nod*, I think only someone under 12 could like that thing.

Anyway, Antec for me. I prefer a modest look to my PC, a high quality ergonomic case and a good psu, all for a good price.

I second that opinion. It's an fugly case.

Overall Best: In-Win
I've built quite a few computer systems in their cases (including my own), and can highly recommend them. Quality Construction / Easy to work with / Clean design / Best Bang for the Buck

Overall Best (price non-withstanding): Coolermaster
Awesome visually, and just as superb quality-wise
Quality Construction / Easy to work with / awesome design

My lian-Li may be of good quality, but their cooling solution is horrible. Thays why I would never rate them high (at least in the case that I got, $300, and I have to drill extra holes and put in 2 120mm fans to keep the motherboard from meltdown, or leave the case cover off)

CoolerMaster and Lian-Li are bar none the best.

Antec is great for superior functionality and quality, but for aluminum good looks and quality, Lian-Li and CM cannot be touched.

How the hell is Antec winning... that makes no sense. People that havn't used Lian Li or Coolermaster I guess.

The sonata is ridiculously quiet

So is my Lian Li PC-61 with 4 panaflos.

Antec makes nice cases, no doubt about that but if you compare the quality of them you cannot beat LianLi/Coolermaster.

You pay for that quality though.
Lian Li (forget the exact model but it was in the region of $160-200 without ps) with Gigabyte motherboard installed here...and pci cards have never fit correctly. I have to cut a piece off the card front part to allow them to seat fully. Other than that and the flimsy drive placeholders Lian Li are good quality. Personally i am more impressed with Antec, though I have a problem with their overly confusing system of cables to allow the front lights to work (hdd and so on)...but maybe that was the motherboard (Shuttle AN35N) in that situation 😉

Cheapest case I can find the better. Even just using a cardboard box to lay the mobo down on and plug everything is, works for me if need be. 😀

Seriously though, the only case right now that I want is the Antec P160 w/ window. But I cant afford that anytime soon.

For years I've envied my cousin's Lian-Li aluminum towers. They do look very sharp.

I've decided to go aluminum as well, and just picked up this:

Silverstone SST-LC03

Great case, especially for HTPC applications..

I've seen it side-by-side with the CoolerMaster Cavalier line... The CoolerMaster looks decidedly shoddy in comparison, with a plastic bezel spray-painted to look like "aluminum" and one of those wierd small form factor PSUs. The Silverstone OTOH is all-metal and takes a standard ATX PSU.

Silverstone is my new favorite.

I like Antec: good clean design, good reliable power supplies, and good prices. My only complaint about Antec are the **LOUD** fans their cases sometimes ship with!! (But a few SilenX fans fixes that!!)

Halfadder

I have the Antec Sonata and it is an awesome case. Whisper silent... 380W trupower PS... even donw to the rubber grommets that the hard drives sit in. 😀

Removing the front bezel sucks but besides that it is great.

First, all it has is a 120mm fan in the middle of the case at the back that runs at 2000rpm. I have 2 2.2 ghz Opterons and an X800pro video card ALL ABOVE THAT FAN and without the side cover off, they go to 79c and over (shut it down to stop meltdown) I have a witness also, Duvie was over her. Maybe he didn;t look real close, but believe me, it is the worst cooling solution ever made at $300 with NO PSU !!!! Check the pictures !!!!!

What?? My Lian-Li V1000 keeps everything cool as f (although it may be loud). So you have 4x 120mm fans in your big case and your CPUs are still running 80C? Something's wrong...

No with the 2 extra fans I added, its 60c. But with the case cover off, its 50c. There is NO place at the top of the case for all that hot air to get out, its physics, its a bad design !!!! There should have been 2 fans going straight out the top at 2000rpm, and then it might have worked !
