installed the truck seat in the 1 ton service truck, and picked up automotive paints and primer for all the things I am working on. Will be touching up the rusty areas on the trailer above and the bed/pipe rack on the truck.

Finally washed my tractor. Tired of being greasy everytime I touch it. Need to rebuild the the loader valve and do more research to see if I can add a rear remote circuit to the hydraulics. Used the loader to disassemble a pergola today.

Now I'm trying to justify new injectors. Better injectors I don't need them per se, but the slope, it is steep and I stand near the edge.

The detail shop acid washed the truck boxes today, so I could start cleaning them up a bit.
Note the rusted bed and rack, I have primer and paint for that.

I have automotive paints and primers for the trailers and rack on the truck. I will probably use extend to pre-treat before priming. I may use undercoat on the front and back of the lower tool boxes, keeping them shiny aluminum will be problematic. They get blasted by the tire spray directly.

I have the pipe rack done, now I am wrapping up the bed edges and headache rack.

I finally have all the parts to convert my bucket to skid steer quick attach, and i have a set of forks for it! lots of welding and and time with the grinder in my future. have to cut the tabs off of the bucket, weld those to the new brackets with latches and weld a plate to the bucket.

Done with the paint. I have a little touch up polishing on the aluminum. I am changing all the locks and when I have the lock assembly out I can polish that area.

Release bearing in my 2.5 Impreza finally went yesterday right as I got to work; had a hell of time trying to get it to not stall out. Smells like burnt ass now...

Had to have it towed back to town but I think i'll have the shop guys do it since I know them well enough. Also easier for them on a lift and pull the trans vs. me plucking the engine and going thru it--though I was considering a EJ25 swap from a 2010+ WRX.

Oh well, least it'll be done now

I started working on the dump truck a couple of weeks ago. First step, get all the grossiosities off before painting.
I shoehorned it into a regular car wash, and got soaked because there was no room to get away from it.

Bonus Bay! Dump Truck included!
It has an off-road fuel tank and pump for the excavator. The pump is in a box on the right side that was totally rusted and pitted. I sanded on it, filled it with 5 coats of primer and sanded.

Those wheels looked nasty. I had white paint from the tool truck job. The box has a few coats of black, the axle faces, and the wheels are white now.

I did all that and now the dump box looks like total ass!!

I picked up paint for that, but will hold off till the smoke goes away. That is too much time out there in the smoke to sand and prep all that.

This week was working at home painting.
I painted the 20 ton tilt deck Monday~Tuesday. I prepped the dump bed Wednesday and got one side and the headache rack painted, and took a lesson from metallic paint. I have not shot metallic before and it schooled me a bit.
You have to shoot several light coats, and the lower angled surfaces got hammered with overspray. Thursday I sanded that out, and came up with a plan for a guy with no painting chops.
I masked them all and peeled the masking as I worked my way down. By the time I was done cleaning up the gun it was too dark for final pictures.

I picked up the brand new mini 35G at the John Deere dealer today, and took it about 6 blocks away and got some dirt and scratches on it.

Lower control arm bushings & ball joints on the GX this week -- found bent alignment cam tabs so I'll need to reinforce those too. Parts are on the way.

Installed the last of the 1/2" thick pin retainers I had plasma cut for the bigger excavator.
yesterday I made a mount for a 3500# winch on the 12K tilt trailer, to assist the scissor lift up the wet deck this winter.
Today I moved the lift from one job to another. I got the winch mounted and pulled out the rope all ready to use.
Murphy the bastard said no thanks, and the lift climbed right up there unassisted. Figures.

Yesterday I picked up 5000 pounds of track groups and sprockets and lower rollers I had ordered a while back.
Today I started the track job. I was going to torch the track and walk off it onto the new one, but no torches were set up, so I unloaded my little prybar and removed the track directly.

Come with me you worn out slinky!

I cut the wires and rolled out the new track assembly, and then dragged it into place. The big machine is holding itself up with the boom and bucket.

I got the track fed around the top to the front idler, then lifted the other end up, braced it with boards, and got the pin installed.

All tensioned up and ready to go, with two new lower rollers and new drive sprocket.

I picked up a toro time cutter, 42 deck 2009. Looks like not too many hrs. Needs tires. 500 bucks is not bad.

I got the other track today.

Different setup this time. I lined it up to roll past the machine, and then I used the bucket and my good track to sidle onto the new one.

That's some way too heavy duty stuff for my scrawny arms...

Working on doing a little refurb work on my buddy's turbo... he's still got the stock internal waste gate in his 04 WRX that we think is sticking, leading to a bit of creep. If he goes WOT in 2 or 3 gear it cuts fuel so either it's not bypassing or there's a problem with his tune (or more likely a lack thereof).

Also, I wanted to do a bit of electrical work in my Impreza before the snow flies--mainly for my AUX lighting and temp gauges but prob not gonna happen.

I buttoned up my winch and aux light wiring this weekend - have a pair each of Diode Dynamics SAE/DOT fog lights and SAE/DOT driving lights (auxiliary high beams) in my front bumper now, wired into OEM switches. I need to aim them and then I should be set.

Those tracks are one metric ton each or 2,200 lbs. The whole machine is 29,000

Installed wall racks this weekend for "other season" tires/wheels.

HyLoft Model 01012 from amazon. Pretty basic install, just had to be sure each lag (8 per rack) was biting into a stud. The lower bars deflect just a bit, maybe an inch. But they are approximately 1/8" thick wall tubes. Heavier duty than I was expecting for sure. The frame is sturdy as well, but poorly packaged with quite a few spots of damage all over. Not a big deal for me, really.

215 lbs on the left and 190 on the right. Box states 375 lbs max. I wouldn't try that... haha

Yea you'd be surprised how much floor space you can save in a garage, even a small one, by getting wheels/tires up and out of the way.
