Hi there,

I'm just wondering who is waiting for the KT400 coming out in the next couple of months. I've been reading some articles that DDR400 may not become an acceptable mode on the existing DDR technology and that many manufacturers are divided on the merit of DDR400. My main reasons for potenitally waiting for this board are:

1) support for Serial ATA Harddrives
2) support for DDR400
3)support for the new Athlon CPU (.13 micron - Thorughbred?)

Any opinions would be appreciated

Thanks

as it looks there is a good chance ddrI 400 may never become a standard link

<< support for DDR400 >>

Surely DDR400 will become as an standard, they're just waiting to explode all they can DDR333, which has entered the market not too long ago. After DDR333 has become the most popular (as 266 is now) they'll release the 400 as an standard.
That's the way everthing goes... just as Intel won't release a 3Ghz CPU until the 2.xx are widely accepted and they've got the profit they want out of it. Or a (name it)Geforce5 won't be released until everybody has moved to the 4's... Remember, they want our money as badly as we want faster hardware.

It's about the time Serial ATA drives show up, HDD's are way too slow for the ultra-fast CPU's we have nowadays...

Won't the Socket-A still support them? I'm not sure about that.

ddrII 400 will surely become a standard :)

but ddr1 400 is looking very questionable (the technology has been pushed about as far as it can go... its making the yields low for manufacturing the stuff)

still there are a few companies trying to push it through
