I am saving and saving for a new system. I'm a person who starts designing thier next box the day they order the current one. I just keep a running config that changes as it goes.

Tekram DC390U3W Ultra160
Seagate X15 18GB
2X Quantum Fireball Pro AS (I don't like IBM because the get too hot)
Plextor 40X
(reuse Plextor 12/4/32)--or whatever is best at the time
Pioneer SCSI DVD (whatever is fastest) in slot load
NV20 will be out by then
Still got a NIC left yet.
SBLive X-Gamer (I have a platinum and would move the livedrive over.)


Thats my plan at this point. Obviously it will change by May 2k1 when I anticipate purchasing it.

Tribes 2 will own so much. I was just playing Tribes 1 and it still is pretty fun. But Tribes 2... IT WILL FSCKING OWN!!!!

I signed up for the beta test but I don't think I was chosen since they only have 150 left in a 1000+ people.

I hope it will be released in fall but I doubt that will happen.

I've been playing tribes lately though, and with FSAA on a GF2 card it isn't half bad... Not all the Jaggies it used to have...

As much as I love Tribes, Its really painfull to play on the general servers... The whole Idea of team play seems to go out the window, and people are in it for the frags... I think they should illiminate points completely for kills. Then maybe, we'd have people on the servers who'd stop bragging about kills, and start playing...

What's with all these Tker's??? what is the fun of being a Team Killer?

Heavy O... Don't get me started, this is plain and simlpy exploiting the game engine...

So... I guess I'm saying, I'm getting tired of Tribes, bring on tribes 2.....

I want Tribes 2, but Halo will be the Tribes killer as long as it comes out for PC and not just the Xbox. Damn, that game looks sweet!

Expect the beta to start in 3-5 weeks, now the estimated time for the beta testing period is around 4 weeks, figure the beta will end in 9 or so weeks, throw in 1-2 weeks for publishing the game and reaching the shelves, and you have the game making the stores by the end of November(which was the timeframe hinted by the dev team for T2)

I agree with Ottobot. Halo looks much better than T2 and, considering that it's being made by Bungie, will probably play VERY well. That's not to say that I don't think T2 will rock, just that it wont be as good as Halo, IMO, of course.

IF halo makes it to the pc(expect 2002 knowing microsoft) it will sure look prettier than T2...but of course, graphics dont make the game right? Now i know bungie had some great games(read:Myth) and they have some good guys there, but this would be their first step in the team based multiplayer world, and since they are developing it for the xbox(which is a console based system) things like netcode and balancing will be second to a good storyline and single player experience. Of course this is all my opinion, but i think it makes sense

TF2 and Halo may be better but who knows when they will come out. Tribes 2 looks to be out definately by Christmas and probably a little earlier. TF2 has been delayed Diablo 2 style and there isn't much on Halo yet.
