Basically, PMs can be taken out of context and are supposed to be private. Even when someone went disclosing a private message I had with them in public, I just ignored the person, never spoke to the person again in PM and avoided them in public. I couldn't stoop low to share a PM, especially without someone's written consent.

luvly, don't get me wrong, I understand your point and would not post a PM publicly, but this PM could not be taken out of context, for a number of reasons:

1. I had and still don't have any idea who Tuffguy is?
2. That PM was the only PM I ever received from Tuffguy, someone I don't know quoting me posting about god know what
3. If that person is sending PM's away left and right, not making a post here, it makes you wonder if that person has another AT account, which I believe is against forum rules IIRC.

I do see what you're saying. However, for the first question, I thought you could achieve that by just asking as you did earlier. Then making a mention that he wrote you but not disclosing what would be fine.

For the second one and third one, if you have reasons to believe that he was up to something, was harassing you or was registered under another name, then I would think that's what the ignore list and moderators were for.

Oh, well! I guess it's just a matter of principles, in my perspective. This wasn't the worst case scenario.

I believe my mistake for 2 & 3 is that I didn't ask any of the moderators for assistance. As you can see, there was a lot of doubt about him/her before I posted the PM, someone even recalled Tuffguy being banned. Either way, you know how it is, live and learn, which I have, thanks :)
