I will be SO glad when Coughlin is gone.
I have serious doubts that Eli has the brains and abililty to be a top quaterback, but with Coughlin around we will never know.

The players play the game. Manning is such an airhead out there. How many delay of game penalties did he have?

Far too many. It was like he didn't have any sense of the clock.

The delay calls are the QB's problem.
But I've never seen Eli have delay problems before, and I've seen every snap he's played in the NFL.
I wonder what caused it, but it doesn't really worry me, because this is not an ongoing thing.
At least it's never been up to this point.

i posted this in the other thread, but, who would you get to replace coughlin, unless you know you can get a better head coach it's not a good idea to move him. look at the chargers.

It's ridiculous. Everyone loved the new and improved Coughlin at 6-2, but now the Giants get beat by a team who is clearly on another level, and suddenly it's fire Coughlin time again. I can't take it. Giants fans need to realize that there are teams who are just going to beat you. You are not going to win every game unless you're NE. You lost to a better team. Accept that. Get out and root for the Giants next week instead of creating coaching controversies. I'm tired of it.

I disagree. Couglin routinely gets out coached. Most of the time he has no adjustment to the other teams successes in the first half. And if the Giants have the lead, the other team seems to always figure out the Giants for the second half.
The Giants may be 6-3 but they have outstanding player personnel and should be in the top tier.
The Giants routinely get inexcusable penalities. They seem to not learn from their mistakes.
When I add it all together, and throw in what seems to be near universal dislike of Coughlin by the players, I say its time for a change at the top.

Where have you seen any kind of dislike for Coughlin from the players this season? On the contrary, they are going out of their way to support him this year. The Giants have not had many bad penalties this year at all. This is the first game that they did. He was not outcoached this game or any other game this year, the players made stupid mistakes. And guess what, that happens when you are playing better teams. Is it Coughlin's fault the passrush could barely touch Romo? Sure, they have outstanding players, but guess what, so does Dallas. What kind of adjustments would you have liked to see? I think they had a very good plan, they just couldn't execute in crunch time.

Who are these outstanding personnel you're talking about? Talent wise giants are decent, maybe borderline good but nothing spectacular.

They're thin at winde receiver, cornerback, linebacker and defensive tackle. O-line is good in run blocking but always give up pressure in passing downs. D-line puts good pressure one week, no pressure the next week.

Not really thin at WR. Plax, Amani, Smith, Moss.
O-line has been really good at protecting Eli. Up until this game it was one of the Giants strengths. D line got outplayed this week by one of the best O line's in the game.

Plax been a no show last few weeks, not sure if he's hurt or what. Amani been the consistent one until the last 2 weeks. Moss is a complete bust so far. I'm not sure if it's just Eli locking up on the primary receivers but the Giants haven't been spreading the ball too well lately.

How can anyone say Moss has been a bust? he's barely played, he's been hurt. I've heard people say this and I don't get it. He has, what 6 NFl catches? 10?

Giants beat Washington, Philly, Jets, Atlanta, SF, and Miami during their 6-game streak. Outside of the skins, all those teams flat-out suck. The expectations going into the game were a bit high. However, their schedule is relatively weak going forward, and they have a good shot of finishing with 10-12 wins. One and done come playoffs, though.

Our running game ain't too shabby either.

We've won the games we should be winning, which is a big step up from the past two years. It's the games where we face the better team that we've faltered under, and that needs to change. Nonetheless, I say a wild card spot is still very possible.

accept it? you play each season with the goal of winning it all. if you routinely get beat by 'better' teams, something's gotta change.

This is after the fact. I'm not saying you should go into a game expecting to lose. But once you lose it's time to move on. You got beat by a better team.

Bah, the Giants beat every inferior team they've played and lost to the better teams. Can't complain about the record. I'll complain about management trading way too much for Eli, though. He's at a best a good NFL QB. I'm glad I didn't catch the second half yesterday. Those delay of game penalties would have driven me up the wall.

Plax has been a no show cause Eli doesnt throw him the ball. Same with Moss. You say 2 boneheaded sentences and then follow it up with the correct answer. Eli is clearly the problem and he needs to go. I think we should get Derek Anderson who isnt going to resign with the Browns im sure.
