to U2fan: Just because somebody is a whole lot stronger than you (pound for pound) doesn't mean he's a freak. Have a little consideration.

A freak???? Geez when I think of a muscle freak I usually think of someone who is like 6'10" and weights 300lbs.

I guess most people who are my weight don't go to the gym that much then. Maybe they are discourage from it. Beats me?

I started to lift weights because I was small. Had to stand up for myself during high school. Saved my butt a couple of times. Don't know why more small people don't do it.

I got my weight up to around 120 during college from all of the beer drinking during rugby season. Now that I'm out of college and drink much less, my weight dropped down to around 108-110.

I'm 23 right now, turning 24 in about a couple of months.

Oh and I didn't post to show people up, U2fan asked a question so I decided to answer it. I got no reason to lie to people I don't know, so if people don't belive me then o'well

Don't be so emotional.
It is a complement.
I wish I was that strong pound for pound.
I bet you can do a one handed pull up.
Not with the other hand locked on for support like most people think.
Just one arm hanging on.
If you can that's incredible an extremely small percentage of people can do it.

My brother, (this is the same brother who has the picture of the dead lady if you read that post) went rock climbing with a friend. The guy could do a one handed pull-up. He then said he had some rock climbing buddies who could do one-handed pinky pull-ups. I have seen my brother do pullups just using his middle fingers but I've never seen anyone even do a one-handed pullup. To do one just using one pinky is absolutely incredible.

Hope you found that as enlightening as I did whenI heard it.

Used to work out lots back in the good ol' days. Maxed out with a bench of 170% of my weight once and then decided it was a big waste of time... decided to spend more of my time doing more interesting sports instead.

Oh I wasn't being emotional, I just never though of it that way.

No, I can't do a one handed up, tried once but couldn't.

Man, I would love to be able to do some of those one finger pull ups like those rock climbers. I'll never have that kind of body type but i'd love to trade for a week to see what it's like. To have the strength to weight ratio to rock climb for hours and to do it well is not in the cards for me. I may be able to move some good weight in the gym but when I go to the indoor rock climbing wall after one hour i'm toast. I just don't have that kind of ratio that my friend has who's five five and maybe 120 lbs but can hang from his fingers all day if he wanted to. With me even with good technique your soft tissue is going to give out eventually a lot quicker than climbers with ecto/endmorphic tendencies.

I watched a show on Discovery about rock climbers. This one fellows workout was insane. He was doing 1 armed pullups with weight(I don't remember how much) attached to a belt around his waist. I bet they can squeeze with their hands like crazy.

I weight 198 (as of yesterday) and my max bench is 320.

You guys know the max bench for a light guy...there is a guy who weighs something like 123 and can do 335 or something stupid like that. Course he is basically a midget too!

Tee Martin, the 3rd string QB for the Steelers, can bench 525lbs free weight (making him the highest benching member on the team) and he weighs 230. :Q When he attended the University of Tennessee I watched him bench 485 his senior year (at Volunteer Gym here in Knoxville).

This girl I'm really close to could whip all of your asses. :p

She weighs like 120. She works out 6 days a week for at least an hour or two. She squats 215 and weighs 120 and is 5'4" (pure muscle, so she is still really thin). I dunno what she bench presses or anything, but she runs a 100m in 11.9seconds...she is a top runner. She has been unofficially offered scholarships to Stanford, Duke, Cornell, Wisconsin, etc. for track and field. See, she is a junior, so they can't right out say that she has a scholarship, but really she can go anywhere she wants to college for free. :)

BTW, I dunno what I bench or leg pres or anything, I haven't been able to seriously work out in about 2 months...I had some minor toe surgery. Really the last two weeks I've started to get into shape some by playing football a lot with friends after school. She plays that too...heh, we were playing half field, we were stuck on the goal line so I threw a 2 yard pass to her and she dashed the other 48 yards without even losing her breath...

Some college and pro football guys are just unreal they're so strong. Joey Galloway is about 180, benches 400+, and is about the fastest guy in the NFL :p

About Tee Martin, that's amazing. I remember a few years ago the strongest QB in the NFL was Neil O'Donnel, and he benches somewhere just over 300 pounds. Of course, that was before the athletic QB was a popular thing in college. It used to be a guy like Tee Martin would move to s different position in the NFL, like safety or TE or linebacker or something. It's good to see.

Anyway, that was my little tangent :p

Chicks have a higher percentage of available strength in their lower body when compared to men though...if she can squat 215, assuming her upper body is of similar development and she is a girl she won't be getting much more than 150 and thats being optimistic :)

Still, athetletic girls like that have nice butts!

Skoorb, I heard that # for the squad from a friend who heard it from her. I don't doubt it. She is buff.

And you're right about the butt. ;)
