The Gateway laptop has a better GPU but the Toshiba laptop has a better CPU. The Gateway is probably better for most games.

Unfortunately, if you ever need help, that would mean dealing with Gateway's tech support, which I wouldn't wish on anyone other than my worst enemy. I would buy almost any brand other than Gateway.

A recent study showed that Toshiba made the highest quality laptops of any company, so that seems like a good choice.

so toshiba is better ???
and is there problem in the gateway tech ???

I don't know about Toshiba. I'm one of the geeks in my circle of friends that helps support the rest of them. All I can say is, the best support HP has given me for many HP and Compaq laptops has been excellent, and locating drivers, etc. is always easy.

OTOH, every time I've tried to get support from Gateway, the first thing they want to do is sell you something, whether or not your machine is still under warranty, and simply searching their site for drivers is a freaking nightmare.

Dealing with desktops is easy because everything is accessible, and you can replace individual components. Laptops are as much about engineering the packaging as the silicon running them so you're dependent on being able to get good info and help when you need it. That's why I would never buy a Gateway machine or recommend one to anyone else.

i will search more in the net and i will see

but is the gate way have specific problem like heat or something

Sager is your best bet according to my buddy who reviews for notebook forums. They have an i7 notebook available now but I'm not sure how much they cost. He has a C2D with a 260m.

Sager is good but if you choose a Sager go through a vendor like XoticPC or PCTorque. They tend to give better customer service than Sager itself does which isnt that bad from what I have heard.
