Isn't the question somewhat flawed in that most of the companies that produce name-brand RAM modules don't produce their own RAM chips but instead just integrate chips made from a small number of major suppliers (like Samsung and Winbond I think), and try to differentiate their products through branding and by adding various extras (like LED temperature displays and such)? Maybe a more appropriate question would be "what are the best RAM chips currently in use by the major retailers"?

Its a poll, not major reasearch lol but thanx for the contructive criticism. But it is the company's judgement call as to what to use so I do think its manufacturer related.

Meh, this poll is too hard to base anything on.

The best RAM varies depending on what you need, what you have to spend, etc...

Samsung chips are found in Video cards. Again this makes the point that the ram retailer has little to do with the actually preformance of the ram.

OCZ is not a chip mfr.

Samsung, Hynix, Infineon (Seimens) come to mind. SEC and Infineon are top quality products.

Crucial is the brand for Micron tech. (Mt)

You should edit the thread title/poll to read "Who is the best memory manufacturer?"

I like Corsair for warranty, reliability and overall quality. Kingston is also good for budget systems. Prefer Hynix or Samsung chips.

I think it because the question is so opened ended. Everyone has their own reasons why they prefer a particular manufacturer based mainly on experiences.

For me, Crucial are unprecidented in customer support, product quality, delivery, the whole thing which may be the reason I vote for them. It doesn't however mean they are the fastest!

Others which I prefer is Corsair and OCZ. Geil are supposed to be good also. I had Kingston RDRAM once....they put me off this manufacturer for good.

So, my vote is, emm....Crucial, OCZ, Corsair, oh I dunno. ;)

I prefer Crucial. I have been using them for over 5+ years. The best quality and stabilty I have ever worked with. I'll take that over high clock speed of the other brands out there anyday, but that is just me.
