Not too long ago someone here posted the actual manufacture of dell switches. I wonder who they are ??
I am in the market of getting new switch for my home network, I want 24ports gigabit capable manage switch. Dont really care for the brand as long as they are reliable switch that will last longer than the warranty. Any info is appreciated.

Thanks

I have not seen a Dell switch yet. I am sure they just have a OEM type factory crank out the product.

D-Link and NetGear just came out with reasonable priced 24 port managed switches. I would imagine the Dell to be higher priced. My preference is D-link products, great prices and have never given me a problem.

Well I honestly saw someone post the actual OEM of dell switch posted here around a week ago.
I even click on the link and got the the site but I never keep any history on my browser.
I really dont mind going other Manufacture, but I like dell warranty, and also I need a switch with 24 GIG ports + GBIC capabilities. My budget is limited, so any of the expansive stuff like cisco, foundry is out of the questions.
Any more ideas ??

How limited and what features do you need?

If you really need the gig and managed I think the Dell is the cheapest game in town. There are much cheaper managed switches out there, but they typically have "expansion module" ports you have to get for the gig interfaces, and those modules turn out to be as much as the switch itself. The Dell having it all built in makes it much cheaper. You should be able to get 15%-ish off MSRP on the Dell switches, btw.
