According to www.allmusic.com the studio version is on Outbound and Shawn Colvin is credited as a vocalist. For Colvin CDs I highly recommend her first two, Steady On and Fat City.

True...but you can't deny how good A Few Small Repairs is. Whole New You has a few good tunes but is rather lackluster overall, imo.

If anyone digs Shawn Colvin, I'd also recommend Patty Griffin (esp. Flaming Red), Lucinda Williams (Sweet Old World, Car Wheels On A Gravel Road, Essence), Kasey Chambers (The Captain), Emmylou Harris (Wrecking Ball, Red Dirt Girl), and Patty Larkin (Angels Running)

I second the recoomendation for Patty Larkin / Angels Running (or Tango) nice voice and great guitar work.

One more good female singer-songwriter is Jonatha Brooke, especially Plumb and Ten Cent Wings, which you can hear as RealEvil streams at www.jonathabrooke.com

Is Shawn Colvin gay? She seems to have a large female gay following...but then again, so does Sarah McLachlan.

She was married (to a guy) and has at least one child, so as far as I know she's not.

But I tend to focus on the artist's music rather than seeking out info on their personal life, so unless I happen to read something about them in an interview I might be the last to know.

Did you get her last CD? Didn't seem anywhere near as good as The Captain.

I and a friend of mine met Kasey (briefly) up at Bogart's in Cincinnati when she opened for Lucinda Williams. We talked with Kasey's mom and dad a bit, too. They're pretty cool! Of course, we got her to sign our copy of her CD, too.
