Who is Sinbad? I am talking about the story book character, not the comedian. All I remember, that he was always on sea, getting into whacky adventures. Why was he out on sea? Was he searching for something?

I don't know about Sinbad, but I used to know a really raunchy song about Barnacle Bill the Sailor. Let me see if I can remember any of the verses:

"Who's that knocking at my door?
Who's that knocking at my door?
Who's that knocking at my door?
Cried the fair young maiden."

Open the door you dirty ol' whore,
Said Barnacle Bill the Sailor.
Open the door you dirty ol' whore,
Said Barnacle Bill the Sailor.

What if Mom and Pop should come home?
What if Mom and Pop should come home?
What if Mom and Pop should come home?
Cried the fair young maiden

I'll fvck yer mom and blow yer pop,
Said Barnacle Bill the Sailor.
I'll fvck yer mom and blow yer pop,
Said Barnacle Bill the Sailor."

That's all I can remember right now. Feel free to make up your own verses to add to it.

Ever heard of "1001 Arabian Knights"?

Princess in order to avoid being "known" by the Ruler told him a story for each of the nights. The "Seven Voyages of Sinbad" were part of that repertoire.

"sindbad (or sinbad) and his seven voyages" is a famour arabic novel (translated in many languages). Apparantly he was a trader who believed that voyage brings wealth. So he was always on the move one journey after another and faced many challanges and got out of all the troubles in one piece (like every adventure hero). After seventh adventure, he got tired of travelling and had collected enough wealth to live the rest of his life without doing anything (other than telling stories of his journeys). I read the book when I was a little kid. I don't remember much if it, but it kept me occupied for one full month.
