He supported and worked for Al Gore in 1988, he used to be a democrat.

He'll be a 4th term of GWB (Obama being the third term).

No thanks. I'll pass.

Perry/West 2012!

It's a long and rough campaign season. Let's watch and see what will happen. Perry might be this season's Fred Thompson. then he could be Reagan II.

I think I felt a tingle run up my leg and a light headed giggly faint coming on.

Heck, no. I'm in Texas and I can't stand the guy. The thought of Perry/Palin running the country makes me want to vomit.

Who would Perry pick for his running mate? Perhaps his best hunting buddy Wango Tango Ted, then they could serve Venison, wild Hog, and fresh Coyote at all White House functions

I go away for four weeks overseas and come back and all this guy is a font-runner from what I am seeing in the press?

Who is he?

If he's an extreme social conservative from Texas, I can only assume that the "mainstream media" wants to thrust him into the lime light. I mean, Obama would probably walk all over another white Texan who most likely will campaign on abortion and gay rights in the midst of all that we've got going on right now. And worst of all, he'll steal thunder from the other Texan who should be more of a front runner.

I wish Republicans would swear to put social issues on the WAY BACK burner for 2012...
I know vaguely who he is, but I completely agree with your post. Abortion and gay rights may be one's very favorite deck chairs, but their disposition compared to the listing of the Titanic is at hardly a serious concern to anyone at the moment.

I don't know enough about Perry to call him a religious extremist - in fact, I try not to use that term about those not actually killing others or advocating killing others. But any candidate mentioning abortion and/or gay rights (other than Obama's bragging that he actually did some major things for gays; he earned that right) should be immediately pelted with rotten fruit by all the other candidates, the moderator, and the audience.

beloved by the teabaggers, supporter and Texas-area campaign manager for Al Gore.

Politicians like Perry are too pragmatic to be labeled. He will be what you want him to be.

He's your next president, that's who he is. Officially in the race.

Parry/Cain 2012!

Hahaha, you think tea baggers will vote for a black guy. Even if he is "one of the good ones" as they say.
Remember what the rightwing said about McCain's children, and they were adopted.

Keep in mind that Mr. Reagan was not only once a Democrat but he was the President of a union.

My personal beef with him comes from him wanting to gut educational books. That and since I'm not particularly religious at all, anyone claiming a deity spoke directly to them to do something makes me thing they are a bit crazy as well.

They need to put social issues on the back burner ...forever.

If they did I could seriously entertain switching parties. The problem with the Republican party is that the lunatics have been running the asylum (or at least in substantial control of it) for quite some time.

Who is Rick Perry?.

rick is new form of puppet.

With obama, big business has to stick their hand up his butt and make him say what they want.

With ricky, he is a new remote control puppet. All big business has to do is move a couple of controls and ricky scurries around doing whatever big business wants.

If that elitist "intellectual" community organizer from Illinois would be doing his job Rick Perry wouldn't even be a blip on the radar.

So the totally obstructionist policies and the "get rid Obama at any cost" marching orders of the repubs have nothing to do with "Obama trying to do his job"? Geez.

On the one hand the repubs blame Obama and the Dems for "not doing their job" when the repubs are doing every single thing they can to stop Obama and the Dems from "doing their job".

If you want them to do their job then tell your repubs in Congress to stop stifling and obstructing the Dems for a change and actually compromise like they should.

no, you simply don't get it:

The Dems "doing their job" means "doing what the repubs want them to do."

that is the modern age of bi-partisan politics.

...and it's funny that the elitist Fear no Evil doesn't even recognize the fact that Obama is, essentially, doing what the republicans want him to do.
