Maybe the Clintons have it, and leaked it's existence just before the Democratic RBC?

Seriously, though, if the tape exists and it really is a potential game changer, I would think that the presidential futures market would initially start to exhibit increased volatility, then establish a new higher baseline once it's full impact has been ascertained and incorporated into the market. Time will tell, I guess.

Dave - The Democrats should have breezed into the Oval office this year considering Bush is such a failure instead they decided to nominate a racist, inexperienced, Muslim? socialist who can't win once all his red flags are vetted.

So let's see... You called Obama a racist because of comments made in his christian church and in the same sentence you call him a muslim? Pathetic.

Here's a clue: The only person who used race in this primary is Clinton. If anyone is a racist it is her.

One is defined by the company you keep. Likewise if McCain hung out at clan rallies for 20 years most would assume he's a racist.

Not to mention coming from his own mouth via racist rejection of his white family and stereotyping and generalizing statements about white people.

If you're at a political disadvantage, you go negative. That's just how campaigns work. (at least ones that want to stand a chance of winning)

If you ever hear the words 'campaign on character', that's a political code word for 'smear your opponent into the ground'. I personally have no problem with negative campaigning so long as they are anywhere approaching honest. (Swift Boat Veterans need not apply) That's just part of the game. We should just be honest with ourselves as to what it means.

less popular decided by whom? you? Are you the gauge of the American voter?

but I don't see either Obama or McCain running a positive campaign.

Yes, what is wrong with Americans that the only way to win an election is to go negative against the other guy (gal)?

if it exists, someone is holding a pretty tight grip on it.
Wow, I read the article but can you imagine if this is actually true?
I have my doubts but we'll see.

We'll never know, will we?

Horton was a disgrace and his being black nothing but circumstance. No question it aided GHWB but that was just being in the right place at the right time. Much as politics usually is.

If that tape was anything more than a GOP fantasy, Hillary's forces would have gotten it out long ago.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Rev. Wright yet. I'm sure each of us will see that twenty second clip another 500 times (or more) before election day.

It doesn't matter how clean either McCain or Obama try to be-the 527s and the all-news cable outlets will do their upmost to stir up controversy.

Sheesh.

Yep, the Rev Wright and the church.

It's still being talked about, and I think the 527's are gonna run it a lot.

It will surface once Obama gets the nod for Democratic candidate. No use in blowing your wad to early.
Though with the mindset of most Obamabots it might solidify them in their White Guilt in thinking "That poor black woman is lashing out due to all the injustices in her life and we, as those white people that held her down, need to make amends and elect her husband."

I put as much faith in it as in the idea that GWB had Osama locked away in a cage somewhere and was planning on "magically" capturing him right before the election in '04.

But don't you know, black people can't be racists  They are just reacting from all the times whitey has put his boot on their neck.

They're waiting for Nov of 08 to help McCain. :p

Seeing Michelle Obama ranting about "whitey" will probably just solidify one's position for or against Obama (seems like no one really is for McCain per se), especially since the Rev. Wright rants have been talked about so much that there are probably very few people that haven't already heard about him or seen him on YouTube.

I think that replaying the "Gosh Darn America" (words changed so as to not offend anyone) video clips might be a more effective ploy to enrage / mobilize voters to the polls to hold their nose and vote for McCain.
