last year the emphasis on the show was the new consoles, but this year should be evenly focused....I would imagine Doom 3 , or whatever they are calling it, will be shown in some form, and will be one of the most talked about parts of the show...I would also guess that UT 2003 will be playable...
as for Duke Nukem Forever, Team Fortress 2, and heck, why not Prey, .......ok, just kidding about Prey, but those two should be there in some form..
the show really is great fun...I am sad to hear that the GOD lot accross the street will not be there this year, that was a great place to get free lunch, some t-shirts, and look at some really strange people, and some hotties too!
Guys, if you work for a company that has anything at all to do with retail, you can probably get in....go to
www.e3expo.com, download the registration form, and choose option 5, free, exhibits only....you will need to provide 2 pieces that prove you work for who you say you do, like a paycheck stub, W2, insurance card, etc...and send copies of those two along with your application.......HURRY though, the deadline for the free passes is April 12th, and after that it will cost you $200 to get in......
New this year are the show days...in the past it has been Thurs, Fri, Sat...this year it is Wed, Thurs, Fri...
Airline tickets to LA are getting more expensive for those dates, so again, hurry up if you want to go! There are E3 discounts available on United and Delta airlines, as well as discounts at a number of LA area hotels....I like to stay up north near Universal Studios...you don't need to get a car, they have shuttles from most of the hotels to the show every 15 minutes...
You really have to see it to believe it, reading about it doesn't do it justice...
