whats a good year for them ? I like the generation before the last one, I think. Like the body style on the ones from the early 90 appeal to me. I have been lookin at them on eBay and they seem to hold their value pretty well. Any years to avoid ? What are the good trim levels to get ? It doesn' have to be the most HP and fanciest trim for me.

thanks, these are not cheap, eh ?

Personally, I'd make sure to get one with fuel injection (though that's not an issue if you're looking at newer than 3rd generation). Go for the highest trim level you can afford. You'll like it better. There's not too much that I can think of as far as reliability concerns. I'm partial to the 4WS Preludes myself, but those are harder to find. I'd love to have an '89 Prelude 4WS Si myself.

They didn't sell well - the last year was 2001. New - the car retailed for around 27k. People who were buying the car were also cross shopping the accord coupe, flagship for the honda division, so it was more important for them to pump up sales of the Accord. For that price you could get a fully loaded V6 accord. I think they'll bring it back, though, and soon 🙂

😕 The SH model was only available on the 4th gen. This site explains a lot about the prelude: http://auto.consumerguide.com/auto/used/reviews/full/index.cfm/id/2176.htm My best friend has a 1996 Tan SE prelude in PERFECT condition, it's such a sexy car 🙂
92-96 was the 4th Gen...😕 edit to fix that damn html 😉

No, I'm too lazy, that's why I use the WYSIWYG editor 🙂

I love this car, but if you don't like the 5th Gen (97+), then I'd suggest something after 93 which is when they introduced VTEC into the line, I believe...there aren't a whole lot of different trim levels, you'll have the base S, then Si, then the Si with 4WS.

Can't really go wrong tho, and there are so many easy things you can do to the engine if you want to work on it...which I plan on. (NOT rice...)
