Who is excited about the World Baseball Classic?

I was starting to think it was gonna be cool till i read this-

- Not pitch until a minimum of four days have passed since he last pitched, if he threw 50 or more pitches when he last pitched;
- Not pitch until a minimum of one day has passed since he last pitched, if he threw 30 or more pitches when he last pitched;
- Not pitch until a minimum of one day has passed since any second consecutive day on which the pitcher pitched; and
- Throw no more than:

* 65 pitches per game in Round One of the tournament;
* 80 pitches per game in Round Two of the tournament; and
* 95 pitches per game in the Semifinals and Final of the tournament.

is this just so pitchers dont get injured for the regulare seaseon...cause it kinda ruins it...if you have a good pitcher he cant continue to pitch...thats pretty lame

It's pretty much nothing that a normal manager wouldn't allow their pitcher to do. You don't want to see someone starting every other game, etc.

Common sense.

a part of me is excited because its baseball before the regular season. but if peavy gets hurt or something then im going to be mega pissed. especially since im going to opening day when he is slated to start against the giants.

I don't think it's a good idea since most of the players aren't in every day playing shape.

And your basing this off of?...

I'm sure they did some sort of training to get ready for this event, rather than just slop it up. We'll see.

I don't like the idea of the WBC. Fear of injury plus the fact that it's during the MLB preseason (i.e. guys not yet in mid-season form) make it thoroughly uninteresting to me.
