I was reading about how Chinese people may have invented noodles before Italians, regardless... I was wondering if it is the same with sausages?

Seems like there are more countries that makes sausages (Polish, English, German, Chinese), and in the same way with intestine skins.

The history of sausage production parallels the recorded history of man and civilization. In fact, for as long as man has been carnivorous, the intestinal tract of meat animals has been used for sausage casings - not to mention a variety of other uses as well.

I always figured that sausages were the result of a dare among a bunch of guys.

Along the lines of "Bob, I'm going to stuff this intestine with lips and @ssholes, and if you don't eat it you're the biggest fluffball alive"
