In order to get thier address you will have to complete multiple captchas of increasing difficulty. That way they are sure its an actual human that wants to do them harm, and not just an army of frustrated computers.

I would shoot the inventor of Recaptcha. Most of them are alright but we clearly need to nuke Carnegie Mellon University.

Fuck you, Fannie Mae website! 15 refreshes until I could even guess at one.

Oh, and audio version? Sounds like 6-7 different tracks playing simultaneously.

Google's reCaptcha has been seriously pissing me off. I think they ran out of most of the "easy" OCR scans, since we all skip those asinine ones... and every single time I come across captcha anymore, 9/10 it's reCaptcha, and I have to cycle through 10 or more until I can even feel like a guess might be close. Half the time I fail that even.

recaptcha used to be EASY. It's supposed to help something with books and stuff, but it's gotten harder and harder. I suppose now they have only bad quality scans left for us to decipher. You used to be able to clearly read them and mess up 1-2 letters and still be ok...

Can you imagine how much WORSE things would be if we didn't have CAPTCHAs to thwart automated bot registrations?

I've been told that before Captchas the bots would spam the hell out of servers, sometimes even taking them down. I agree though some sites abuse Captchas, where you get one every time you do a search.

The thing is, the bots are just as good, if not better at them. I can't remember which website I signed up on, but in order to get in, there was an image of a math problem, something simple like the integral of x^2 (with respect to x) from 3 to 6. It's a shame the entire internet can't have something like that just to log on! :) :p

The given example is not so bad, but yeah I've seen completely ridiculous captchas that I got 5 times wrong
