if you had unlimited $$$ to use for the purchase of a desktop system from an online company. If you would not go with them why? and who would you go with?

I DONT THINK I MADE THIS CLEAR: I AM NOT BUILDING MY OWN SYSTEM IT IS TOO MUCH OF A HEADACHE FOR ME. BTDT

I would make my own same as usual, I like building them, and I can pick the components I want (read top of the line) I wouldn't skimp.

They're too bloated. I wouldn't buy an Alienware system at all. If I had the money, I would buy all the parts stand-alone and build the system myself.

Amen

I wrote Alienware off when I saw them listed in an interior design magazine as selling multi-colored computers.

I would spend the extra money I would save building my own system on something that I need more than a bloated system. Like food or gas.

so besides the prevailing preference to build it oneself what if that wasnt an option and you had to buy it online assembled.

I might get a lappy from 'em, but I wouldn't touch a desktop with a 10 foot pole (unless it was a gift). And even if it was a gift, I'd probably buy a different case and transplant everything.
