Their head coach even said..."gota have him"

Ricky Davis says.. all we hear about is Lebron James

What do you guys think?

Sacrafice one season to get a star that will give you 15 seasons

Even if they do its no guarantee they will get the first pick.
I think only a couple teams who finished last actually ended up with the number #1 overall pick
1989 the Nets with Derrick Coleman and maybe the Spurs when they got Tim Duncan? confirmation?

in the nba i think they've got a lottery system. like the 4 worst teams draw a number to see who gets to go first.

There is a lottery between the 3 worst teams to see who gets the first pick. I think it is weighted in favor of the worst team but not by much.

first of all, James aint MJ or Shaq material, and even if he can reach that kinda level of impact in the future, you still cant win a championship with only one superstar. MJ had Pippen, Shaq has Kobe, who the hell does James have? Ricky Davis?

Its 13 teams as McPhreak said, hence, the top 13 eligible players are referred to as "lottery picks". The team with the losing record still only has a 25% chance of landing the #1 pick, and only 2 teams with the worst record since the lottery format began have won the lottery.

Well, it worked for LA and Boston when they lost on purpose to draft Bird and Magic. However, that was before the lottery.
