I play golf occasionaly w/ my friends......dont really take it seriously, we don't usually keep score. Last time I went (Few weeks ago) I did fairly decent one some holes, got par on 3 of them and a birdie on one hole:D

But then again, on most holes I shoot way over par and lose many balls. To me, its more of a having a good time thing than having a great score.

I'd love to complain about an 18 handicap. In fact, bogey golf is my realistic and attainable goal for somebody who only plays about 6-12 times a year like myself. I was FINALLY getting mine down into the consistent low 20s/upper teens and then I got busy in the last 9 months or so and haven't played since. I can never seem to get all parts of my game even halfway down at the same time. It used to be I could always putt well, but the last time I was playing on a consistent basis that was one of the few things that I WASN'T doing right. Nothing sucks more than hitting the ball well all over the course only to waste it all by screwing things up on EVERY single green by 2 and 3 putting. :| At least when I'm hitting the ball poorly screwing up on something like putting doesn't seem a big deal because it's just one more thing to laugh at. But when you finally start getting all the hard things down only to screw up one of the easiest areas of the game is extremely irritating. Hmmmm . . . think I'll go to the driving range before they close :)

I was thinking about posting the same thread earlier. Anyways...

I quit golf 3 years ago... got burned out playing WAY too many tournaments in high school. I just starting playing again this summer, and I am better than ever before. I would say right now I am ~3-4 handicap. I am playing pretty well, usually shoot 75-76 on a nationally ranked course from the championship tees. On easier courses, I shot combined -1 this year (no 60's yet this year:() after three rounds.

I play well enough to hang with the club pro, the assistant pro, and some of my friends who used to play in college; we play to see who pays for dinner and its usually pretty close.

I thought about trying out for my univeristies team (I currently only play at that golf course, and I have for many years). Ive known the coach for a while... but I talked to him for the first time in 3 years and I remembered how much of an idiot he is. I decided that I wouldn't ever want to play for him, so I am not going to try out. Golf has always been more fun playing with no stress anyways.

I am guessing there will be not many people here which play golf:eek:

I'm about the same. Usually play 1 or 2 times a week.

<-------- golfer

Back in the day in University, I had my handicap down to 11.

Nowadays, i'd be lucky to break 100. (no time to play anymore)

Best I ever had was a 25 on a 9 hole par 3 course. My average at that course is more like 35. No idea for 18. Probably 100.

I haven't played golf in at least a year- I REALLY need to get out this fall with my buddies. As soon as the freaking Texas heat dies down! :disgust:

Anyway, on average, I shoot somewhere in the neighborhood of 90, which blows. I almost always bogey each hole, if not double bogey it.

Never got into the hadicap routine, and as much as I am playing this year its not going to happen now either.

Used to shoot in the low 40's for 9, and usually around 85 for 18

This year has been pretty bad, only 3 times out thus far and none have been good.:(
My best score for the year on 18 was 107.

I'm about a 15 handicap or so. I generally shoot 5 strokes +/- 90 depending on the course. Best score ever for 18 hole is 79. :)

It's a good link but want a better one? I found this link in a free booklet for central Texas golf. www.golfq.com. They offer courses here in Texas, not many but coupon discounts. Like around here Circle C Ranch is $50 on a weekday, $15 off coupon with cart makes it $35. They also had a 2 for 1 on weekend too. Check them out!
