I'm not really asking for a friendly game of Ghost Recon, but I'm just wondering what kind of computer are you running Ghost Recon on and what resolution/details you guys use? I have a PIII 1GHz and GF2GTS and I find myself setting it to 640x480 and medium details in order to run the game smoothly. I can run most games at 800x600 (MOA:AA, C&C:R, Serious Sam 2) with no hiccups, but somehow it chokes in Ghost Recon. TIA

Yeah, that game seems buggy, I don't push the resolution too much on that game.

MOHAA on the other hand is great.

I've only played single player which is less demanding by far, but I haven't had too much problems at 1024X768 with Quincunx and anisotrophic filtering on with a Athlon 900 and a Geforce 3.

Me : Athlon 1.4, 512Mb DDR, Radeon 8500 - 1280 x 1024, all details on max and game runs fine in multi and single player (I usually knock the resolution down to 1024 x 768 when playing multi' though).

My friend : Athlon 1Ghz, 128Mb, Matrox G400 MAX - 800 x 600, all details on medium, runs fine in single player, slightly choppy (but perfectly playable in multiplayer).

Ghost Recon is excellent, in fact its the only PC game I've bought in the last 12 months.

Dam I thought I was doing something wrong. I was playing the game at 1600x1200 32 and was having occassional stuttering specially when I was escorting tanks and when it was snowing. I thought it was the POLYGON bug that everyone was talking about. Changed drivers and even ran it in win 98 still the same. I guess its the highly demanding (or buggy) software.

I currently run it at 1200x960 everything maxed out. XP1800, Radeon 8500, 512 ddr, soyo dragon plus

I would love to play online, used to play a lot of of rougue spear but not for a while

Has anyone tried playing on line with a MODEM? How is it? I get fairly good connection speed (45kbs) but have not bothered trying online.

I've done some extensive benchies with this game. I have a chart with about 50 logs with tons of settings with two comps. I can't do them again becuase with the patch, the replays don't work so i'll have to rebench everything. I've found a few things about performance:

Game runs around 15-30% faster on windows 98 (pIII 800) compared to XP (XP system has twice as much memory 512, and 1.3ghz). Antialiasing takes of a ton unless you are using Gef4Ti and using quincuxx or 2x.

For those GTS guys: buffer 16->24bit takes off 10 avg frams 800x600->1024x768 takes off another 10 frames.
GR doesn't seem to care much about memory on vid card. There were no changes from 32MB to 64MB on the Geforce2s.

I'm going to do tons of testing with a high end Ti4600 and XP 1900+ system this week with the desert seige pack. If you guys have any request one settings just ask and i'll post the chart later.

It runs fine on my machine at 1280X1024 32bit with Quincunx(XP1900, Winxp, 512mb ram). When I 1st started to play the game I always max all the detail settings. I noticed when I did this I would get bad stuttering. I nailed the problem down to the shadows option in the graphics options. I now leave that at a lower setting & everything runs smooth.

I through together a AMD XP 1700 on a SOYO DRAGON Plus with 512MB of RAM and a Geforce3 Ti 200. Game has been running exceptionally smooth, havent quite figured out the multiplayer deal. But hey Im still addicted to Urban Terror the Quake 3 mod. You
wanna have some fun check that game out.

I should get getting that game in the mail tomorrow. I'm hoping it will run well on my 2000+ with my pathetic geforce 2 gts. Soon, the wait for the ti4200 will be over...
