Who here owns a ATI card with a video in...

Just curious who owns an ATI card with a video in and curious how they like it....


Do you only use the software provided by ATI or are there alternates out there?
If so what software are you useing?

Have a Radeon 64Mb. It is a great card for gaming at a reasonable price. 2D and 3D image quality is great. 3D performace is on par, plenty fast.

I have used the video input with my camcorder a couple of times using the ATI software. It works pretty good, I did experiance a lockup with it once. If you really want to do video capture and editing you will still have to buy a package of some sort. The ATI software captures but does not edit, at least with the 64Mb card it may be different with an AIW.

I have the AIW Radeon and am now spoiled with all its video features, especially TV in. I use it all the time to record live content and from vhs tape. Overall it's pretty damn cool. The software was ok in the beginning, but with all the driver updates and software updates I am pretty pleased with it. I dont use the "pause live TV" function so I cannot comment on that.

There is other software out there I could use, but i don't feel compelled to. Gaming is plenty fast although I know it wont be that way forever. By that time the Radeon 2 based AIW should be around
