Who Here Loves to Play Chess?

I played a lot when I was younger and now I've just started getting back into it. I pay a few quick games a day now on my computerized chess set. Anyone else really like to play?

I like to play it every now and then. I have a college prof who is obsessed with the game. He's written a few computer chess programs.

Chess is great. I was tought by my grandfather. On the first game, he tought me the moves. Second game, I beat him. Those were the only two games of chess we ever played.

Back in the good old days of General Motors, we had a mini-amphitheater set up around a couple of players. It wasn't unusual to have 15 people sitting around watching two guys play right in the middle of the production floor.

I wasn't bad back then, but that was 25 years ago.

Anybody know a good website that teaches you some foundations in chess?

Back in HS, a friend and I were playing chess during lunch and one of the school's deans walked by and told us that we could not play any games in the cafeteria.

I do love chess, and play every now and then. My oldest daughter enjoys it also. When I was younger I even went throught two electronic chess games.

i used to play competitively up until end of middleschool really...and then just for the team in highschool.
