Oh, and for those of you who complained... for those of us who've been here for five years, we've seen far worse. ATOT has plumbed the depths of humanity's waste many times, a thread about hard boiled eggs hardly crests that mire.
 
I like them with a little salt. I've heard they're good with tabasco sauce, I have not tried that myself.

My mother's deviled eggs are the best, and her pickled eggs are the best in that category as well.
 
This is to keep the yolk firm but not overcooked and green:
1. Put eggs in sauce pan, pour cold water in the pan until the level is about 1/2 inch over the eggs.
2. Set stove to high and wait for the water to boil.
3. When the water begins to boil, remove pan from heat and set timer for 10 minutes.
4. After 10 minutes, remove eggs and put them in a bowl of ice water. Let rest for two minutes.
5. Peel then do whatever you want with them.

Freshest eggs work best because the yolk will be nearly centered in the egg white. Older eggs the yolk tends to rise to the top.

Later on today, I'll write out my recipe for deviled eggs.
 
Mmm... I like them also. I like to cut them in half, take out the yolk, then put some salsa on it and eat it. Good stuff.

Love hard boiled eggs and especially diced up on top of a chef salad. Also love deviled eggs and deviled egg sandwiches. I think that I could eat 24 deviled egg halves if they were put in front of me right now. High cholesterol FTW!!

teh win. My dad used to buy them by the big-arse jar, and we'd eat them straight out of that with some salt. And I turned out just fine.😕
