And of those who know it....

is it Emergency and/or standard?

Did you take the course out of personal interest or work related?

I have not taken a course, just know what they taught us in school, direct pressure, keep 'em awake, clear the throat, tell them they will be fine even though......

oh, Franks and Beans, from "There's something about Mary"
Oh man! How'd you get the beans above the frank?
when Ben stiller got "IT" stuck (really bad) in his zipper.

I was an Eagle Scout and I served in the Army for 6 years. So yes, I know first aid like like the back of my hand.

actually...I'm planning on volenteering to put those skills to the test.

if i don't i'll feel like I've wasted my time and money to get the damn certification.

I've had 4 first aid courses and a half dozen cpr courses.
Mostly work-related, some just because I wanted to go.

I took a First Aid course at a community college. It cost about $100 for the course. We met once a week and after the course was finished, we took a test and got certified for Red Cross (They give us a little card that says we are certified).

I then took an accelerated Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course and that costed $500 for 1 month. We met monday through thursday from 3-10. We had to take the county EMT-I Basic test, now national registry or whatever and that costed around $45 (I forgot). Although it was long, it was an interesting and fun course.

To answer the OP's question, it was emergency first aid and it was for personal interest.

Used to be certified years ago, I don't think I even remember how to do CPR properly anymore
