I didn't know exactly what it meant, but hearing it said a few times I knew it was a real word.

I figured it was a real word since I've used it and heard it used so much. I guess it would never have occured to me to see if it was actually listed in the dictionary.

One hears warbling in low bit-rate music files all the time. Try classical music with trumpets and strings. I suppose one could argue that the "warbling" in those files isn't "melodic embelishment"...I just tend to figure that it's embellishmet that happens to be erroneous.
