Who here keeps a journal?

I'm talking about a real life journal, either electronic or paper, but something that you *don't* share with anyone else, just as a record of your days events or thoughts or emotions or whatever.

I am amazed at the things that I forget and only remember by reading my old journals.

no way, if i dont want people to know about it, it doesnt get written down or recorded on anything

I'm not saying anything incriminating, just stuff that is...personal.

why doesnt blog count 🙁

If others can read it, it isn't personal. Personally, I use thinkfree and just add to my journal whenever I'm so inclined.

if i found your journal i bet i could read it unless it was one with a lock on it

so am i. if its personal and i want it to stay that way, i dont write it down. we had to do a daily journal entry in high school for one of my teachers, and i just either entered the dullest things id done, or made something up. im pretty personal, maybe slightly paranoid, so i dont write down much outside of reminder notes

This is the digital age. Blogs count just as much. You can make private posts you know. And a lot of people do. I make private posts that only I can see. In fact thats a whole lot safer than a real paper journal.

I used to keep a golf journal, when I was trying to be serious about my rounds.

But no, not since university - and even that was very irregular.

I've got a journal.

I don't really write in it on any kind of a regular basis, though... maybe once or twice a year when something major happens that I need to write about but is too personal to post it on my blog.

LOFL

Some people won't write anything just to themselves (because communication is pointless without a receiver), so writing it for others seems to help get it out of their system. That's why I use myspace blogging.

I've had to keep journals and barge logs for work for many years, as well as a time book to keep track of my hours and the jobs I worked on. Not much personal in them, but occasionally, funny stuff that happens on the job...
