Who here is streaming 720p content to their 360 WITHOUT frame loss.

So, I've been trying to stream HD 720p content (2gb files) to my 360 without frame loss, but can't seem to do it. I'm using TVersity, and I'm trying to watch planet it earth, but it stutters a bit, and is really annoying.

I'm running the content over a 100 mbit switch.

Who here is actually streaming successfully, and tell me the software/settings you're using.

Are you trying to transcode, or simply stream 360 compatible videos? Because I can stream 1080p videos (~8 GB) with no stuttering at all, but they require no transcoding. I'm also using TVersity.

[edit] As for settings and hardware... nothing special setting wise, although I have TVersity set to never transcode. The videos stream from an XP Pro computer that I'm using as a file server. The files are streamed from the PC via a Gbit connection to a router and then via another Gbit connection to a switch and then to the 360. I believe the 360 is 100 Mbit only, so the gigabit connections previous to the last link shouldn't matter.

I'm only attempting to stream. If I try to transcode the file in question, Xbox360 won't display it at all. Just curious, what settings are you using for TVersity.

I wonder if there's a short file I could download to compare/test with other peoples' setup.

Any settings in particular you want to know? I don't think I set anything specific other than the never transcode setting. Other than that I just set up the folders to share.

Alright, I think you helped me figure it out. I found some free 720p/1080p trailers, and they stream flawlessly. It must be the files I have. Thanks.

If you're just streaming media and the 360 can properly read it, then there should be no stuttering at all.

It's probably the files. I downloaded some 1080p versions of Planet Earth and they were extremely jittery when other 1080p stuff works just fine.

Fixed?

I stream uncompressed DVD rips to the 360 via Windows XP Media Center Edition, no hiccups at all.

And yes, I own the movies, so they're like 95% legal.

Edit: Ok so I'm not sure if its a 720P signal or not, I just know the files are large (4-6gb)

Can you guys tell me what Tversity gives you that you can't get by just sharing your media to the XBOX360 with WMP11?

In my case, it doesn't crash... but Tversity can transcode your movies into different formats if necessary.
