My brother and sister used to scare me all the time when I was younger. I watched a lot horror movies too, but now, I am desensitized to it all. No movie scares me and darkness can kiss my arse.

not where humans live. but in deep forests camping at night, u get true pitch black. where if u poke ur head out the tent all u see is nothing, u have zero visual info. that is freakin creepy considering critters move around still.

Between the desire
And the spasm
Between the potency
And the existence
Between the essence
And the descent
Falls the Shadow

From the looks of things doom 3 is going to make you jump a few times with deamons popping out of the floor and haveing like 2 heads. mabye not scare, but wake you up from playing it all night.

There's nothing wrong with a good imagination, but as you see, it can have downsides. You'll outgrow it. Until then, try to reassure yourself. You know the source of your fear, and you know why you're scared. Use that to your advantage.

I have a pathological fear of end-of-the-world Dawn of the Dead/28 Days Later scenarios. so much so that I keep extra gas and some canned goods in a box in my trunk, in addition to a standard first aid kit. I once timed myself to see how fast I could get out of my house, in my car, and onto a major road in the event that I woke up and my parents were brain-eating zombies :p

I'd be screwed in my current apartment, though. my car is parked a few blocks away, and more often than not, it's wedged between two other cars, requiring surgery-like skill to get out of the parking space. and the only food I have in the apartment are alcohol, condiments, and a few boxes of mac and cheese.

I have always been afraid of the dark and I am not ashamed to admit it. I think it has a lot to do with a lack of control over your surroundings. In the dark, you cant see whats coming for you, so you dont feel like you can defend yourself..maybe...

Funny thing is I am not scared of anything else...spiders, heights, water, no man or woman...just the dark.....go figure.

naruto1988, it's pretty simple for me really.

All you have to do is remind yourself that ghost and vampires and the like are not real. Period. Because they are not, and if you have convinced yourself otherwise, you need to do a bit more research. To save you some time, though: They do not exist, just like Santa Clause, just like the Tooth Fairy, etc.

I am irrationally creeped-out by ventriloquist dummies and clowns. Dummies and clowns are pretty easy to avoid once you know what you're looking for... :)

My advice is: Pick just ONE fear and run with it, cultivate it, spice it up. But you only get one. Simplify.

i can say with all honesty ,I have no fear of the supernatural at all. I do not like horror flicks because the people act irrationaly just like every movie on LifetTime channel.

I watched an absolute ton of scary movies growing up. I think Iwatched the poltergeist series when I was like 9 or something. Aliens around that time also. And now I've watched pretty much everything in between. There was a time when I couldn't sleep without my tv on (to light the room). But now it seems I like the dark a lot. I can walk through my house without turning on a single light and if I hear a noise it doesn't even bother me.
