So i've been traumatized by my brother when i was young. then i watched some scary movies growing up, 13 ghosts, the ring, gothika, to name a few. i have, however, decided to never in my life again see another scary movie. but i can't get these thoughts out of my head. i'm afraid of the dark and what lurks there. like ghosts or vampires and little creepy girls...
so, i just wanted to get people's thoughts on their fears. not like, fear of snakes and spiders, but of the supernatural and the dark. and any way i can help clear these awful thoughts and imagations my brain comes up with? god...i'm so scared i can't even take a shower right now (cause my friend was scaring me in the car while i was getting a ride home).

Not afraid of the dark, unless something has spooked me and I have to go into the dark.

It is not the dark that spooks me, but if something else does, I don't want to be int he dark.

:)

Is this a parody thread? If you're serious, um... give it time, you should outgrow it.

I was freaked out by the supernatural when I was younger btw, I started reading Stephen King at around the age of 8 :p Doesn't mean you'll be all fscked up as an adult... Well, I am, but that's a bad example  Now there's something to be scared of...

i'm serious, and i've been VERY SLOWLY outgrowing it. wish there was something to zap all these horrible thoughts in my brain. no foundations for my wicked imagination.

I used to be so scared up until I was 11. I saw this ghost when I was 4, well it looked so real, I took a long look at it, and it didn't go away. But one day when I was 11, I just told myself no matter how hard I look, those ghosts aren't gonna come out and get me, nor will they appear. After that, I just didn't get scared anymore..

13 ghosts, the ring, gothika

you realize those movies aren't scary right? go rent the exorcist and i guarantee you'll have nightmares for years if you think those are scary ;)

btw for the record, I hate scary movies too. I'd just rather watch something else :)

You'll outgrow it. I do still get scared for a night or two after watching a scary movie (images stick in my head like in The Ring) but I'm only freaked until I forget it. After a few days of seeing the sunshine, some sports channels, etc... you come to realize it's all just a story concocted by another human mind. Nothing is out there... watch some more comedies and action flicks...

wuss ;)

my mom read Stephen King to me as bedtime stories when I was a kid (don't know how young I was when she started, but I have clear memories of her reading IT to me when I was 6, and I was scared of sewer grates until I was in my teens). when I was 10, we moved from Oregon to New Jersey -- my mom, my sister and I were in one car, and my dad and his friend were driving the u-haul behind us. we listened to The Stand on tape in our car.

the only horror movie that's ever really scared me was Candyman (mostly because I was in 5th grade when I saw it, but also because there were a lot of mirrors in the house). I had a pretty big fear of mirrors for awhile (ie: I'd turn all the lights in the house on just to avoid walking in front of a mirror in the dark), but I saw Candyman again a few years later and recognized it for the cheesefest that it was :p

Just remember, when you are walking around in the dark, YOU are the #1 badass out there. It's the ghosts that are scared of YOU!

hehe. we used to summer in Maine every year as kids, at a lake house in the middle of nowhere.

one night, we were driving on the dirt road that led to the house, the my mom stopped the car and turned off all the lights. there was no moon, so you literally couldn't see your hand in front of your face. I've lived in brightly-lit major cities my entire life, so that definitely scared the crap out of me. lol.

I don't give a sh1t about the supernatural. I care about crazy people with knives or guns such as the Zodiac or BTK.
