Many aren't old enough to remember but Wendy's ad campaigns in the early to mid 1980s (included Clara Peller) were one of the innovators/pioneers of 'adverts as memorable or comedic entertainment' that is ubiquitous today.

She got fired from Wendy's campaign over Hormel chili if I remember right. She used the beef reference in relation to the chili(or whatever it was), and that implied that it wasn't at Wendy's, so they canned her :^D
